Firmin and Sons is the oldest supplier of swords still operating in the British Isles having added “Sword Cutlers” to its trades description in 1838. In fact, we still currently hold the supply and refurbishment of Swords Contract for the MoD to this day.

Firmin are manufacturers and suppliers of blades of all types in traditional, national styles including daggers, sgian-dubhs, and presentation swords for all civilian and military purposes. With our in-house design and manufacturing facilities and skilled jewellers we can also supply something entirely new – producing guards, hilts and scabbards ornamented with vitreous enamel or set with gems as required.

We are particularly proud of our close relationship with many military academies and colleges and are proud to be the sword makers of many young officers’ first sword, and in some cases continuing to supply them as they move up through the ranks and receive their general’s sabre.

Since 2005 we have been proud to sponsor and manufacture the Firmin Sword of Peace. Given to the Royal Navy, Army, RAF, and joint service unit that has made the most outstanding contribution to community relations each year. This prestigious award recognises that the work of Britain’s armed forces is as often humanitarian as military and rewards our servicemen for the work they do bringing communities whether in the UK or abroad together.
